How often do you get the chance to render the design for the trailer of an NBA basketball team? We’re guessing there’s just not enough trailers for this to happen too often. So we were thrilled to get to work with Matt and Dwayne of Defined Designs to create a corporate theme build for the Toronto Raptors.

Looks real, doesn't it? But is it?

In the midst of redesigning materials for the Toronto Raptors’ Raptors Mobile Fan Zone, Defined Designs asked us to assist in creating the renderings for the interior of their team trailer. The renderings brought the visual ideas to life—in fact, very little changed between rendering and production, so it was a great mechanism to help visualize what the final piece would look like.

As the Toronto Raptors reach out, their trailer will serve as another medium to deliver their message, allowing them to bring the locker room to the fans. In the future, their touring promotions plan to use technology to better interact with their fans.

For those of us who often see our work trapped inside a monitor, it’s always refreshing to do campaigns, especially those that let us exercise our designs in a variety of mediums. It’s rewarding to see what results from great teamwork and this was a project in which everything came together beautifully. As it launched just before the holidays, look out for the Raptor’s Fan Zone touring around your neighbourhood—they’ll be rolling out in style.
